(Swede Wine Recipe)
Winemaking Ingredients: Swede Wine - Wine Making Guides
4 lb / 1,800 grams swedes
2 1/2 lbs / 1,100 grams sugar
2 lemons
1 orange
Wine yeast
8 pints / 1 gallon boiling water
Winemaking Method: Swede Wine - Wine Making Guides
Wash Swedes thoroughly and chop finely (do not peel swedes). Add to fermentation bucket, together with boiling water. Allow swede mixture to stand for four days and then strain the liquid. Add all of the remaining ingredients, including the activated wine yeast and stir twice daily for around six days. Stain again and then transfer swede wine mixture to demijohn, fitting a winemaking airlock.
Leave to ferment for approximately six months and then rack, and repeat until clear. Bottle after a further three months and store in a cool place for up to one year.
