Homemade Wine Recipe

Ingredients: Rowan Berry and Wheat Wine

3 lb / 1,500 grams rowan berries
8 oz / 225 grams wheat
1/2 pint / 300 ml grape juice concentrate
3 lb / 1,500 grams sugar
8 pints / 1 gallon cooled, boiled water
1 tablespoon citric acid
1 teaspoon yeast nutrient
1/4 oz / 10 grams wine yeast

Method - What to Do

Place all of the washed rowan berries into the fermantation bucket and then pour on the boiling water. Stir this mixture and then leave to stand for three to four days. Strain this juice and start to add the other ingredients, including the yeast, which should first be activated. Cover, stir daily and leave to ferment for two weeks in total. Strain the rowan berry and wheat wine mixture into a prepared demijohn, and then seal with an appropriate airlock. Place in a warm cupboard and bottle after three months, when the fermentation process should be completely finshed and the wine clear.
