Ingredients: Elderflower Wine Recipe
1/2 to1 pint elderflowers
3 lbs / 1,350 grams sugar
8 pints / 1 gallon water
Wine yeast and nutrient
Method - What to Do
Put the elderflowers, lemon rind (no pith) and sugar into the bucket. Add the boiling water and stir vigorously until the sugar has dissolved. When cool add the orange and lemon juice and the yeast. Cover the bucket and leave to ferment for four days. Strain into a demijohn and fit airlock and leave to ferment.
When fermentation has ceased, rack the wine into a clean jar and place in a cooler environment and leave for a further few months. Rack again if necessary and leave until the wine is stable and then bottle.
